President, CEO, Director & Founder
Norma J. Ebanks
Fashion designer Norma Ebanks has always harboured a deep passion for fashion.
Her journey began at the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York City, a renowned institution famous for hosting the TV show Project Runway, featuring supermodel Heidi Klum. In addition, she honed her skills at the Sew Rite School in New York, earning certifications in Fashion Design and Home Décor. Norma’s education extended to Jamaica, where she trained at the Howell School of Fashion, further broadening her expertise.

After completing her studies, Norma returned to the Cayman Islands, inspired and driven by a newfound sense of purpose. Soon after, she founded Creative Fashion and Design, a highly successful, community-centered fashion studio that has catered to both local and international clients for over 20 years.

Her unique designs have graced a variety of clients, including contestants and queens from the Miss Cayman Islands pageant. In August 2022, her signature collection, “Norma Ebanks Designs,” debuted at NY Fashion Meets DC. This was followed by her showcase at New York Fashion Week in September 2022 and 2023 and again in February 2024 at London Fashion Week. Norma’s designs also captivated audiences at Paris Fashion Week in 2023 and Milan Fashion Week in 2023.

Over the years, Norma’s talent and contributions to fashion have earned her numerous accolades, including the Caymanian Designer of the Year Award in 2009 and the Avant-Garde Award in 2010 from the Cayman National Cultural Foundation. With more than 35 years of industry experience, Norma’s mission remains steadfast—to empower aspiring fashion designers from the Cayman Islands, the Caribbean, and beyond. Through her Creative Fashion School, she has mentored and taught many budding designers, offering various fashion-related courses to the Cayman community.
In 2023, Norma and her family launched the annual Cayman InStyle Fashion Week, a collaboration between the Creative Fashion School and Cayman Islands Fashion Week. That same year, she officially launched the CIFWK Model Agency, further elevating opportunities for local talent. She took a fashion school student and Caymanian models to New York Fashion Week in 2023 and February 2024 at London Fashion Week, as well as to Milan Fashion Week in 2023.
In 2024, Norma Ebanks published her first magazine, where she serves as the Editor-in-Chief, further expanding her influence in the fashion industry. In addition to her work in fashion, Norma has served on the Cayman Islands Government’s Scholarship Interview Panel since 2017 and has consistently supported local charities. She was a featured speaker at the Cayman Islands Women Empowerment Brunch, where she gave an inspiring talk on self-love and motivation and was honoured with the “Speaker on Women Empowerment” award. Additionally, she spoke at the Cayman Islands Cancer Foundation’s Youth Fashion Show, focusing on empowerment and self-love.

Norma continues to share her wealth of knowledge by offering masterclasses at her institution on pattern making, garment construction and clothing manufacturing, nurturing the next generation of fashion designers.

Norma Ebanks attended the BRICS+ Fashion Summit in Moscow in October 2024, showcasing her commitment to global fashion trends. She was a speaker and lecturer, and she also conducted a master class in pattern making and construction. This opportunity allowed her to share her expertise and insights on global fashion trends with a diverse audience.
